My favorite little street message from Maastricht.

I feel lame for finding this funny, but still, it’s kind of a perfect readymade…. From the Maastricht grocery store.

The inimitable Jayme Yen found the image below buried deep within the Library of Congress Archives. It’s a photograph from 1898, a proto-LOL treasure. Note the contrast and affinities with the bottom image, which is typical internet kitteh flotsam, circa early 21st century. Cats have always loved technology and protraiture.

A promotional display for selling DVDs of Wall-e, the Pixar/Disney animated movie. The crate is also decorated cardboard, and serves as an integrated pedestal.
